Auxiliary - Application Procedure

Be sure that names, phone numbers and addresses are legible and accurate as your references will be contacted and your employment verified. Make a photocopy of the completed application for your own records. You may bring your application to Rockville Volunteer Fire Department Station 3 at 380 Hungerford Drive in downtown Rockville (At the corner of Hungerford Drive and Beall Ave), or mail it to:

After acceptance into the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department you will be required to schedule a physical examination with the Montgomery County Medical Office. The physical is modeled after the NFPA 1001 (National Fire Protection Administration Medical Standard 1001) and will be performed at no cost to you. In addition, all applicants will be required to submit to an official criminal background check. This check is a policy of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Commission. Having a criminal record does not necessarily disqualify an otherwise qualified applicant from joining the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, however, failing to reveal that information on the official application will cause your membership to be immediately terminated.
